Impersonation Plot

Excerpt from Perfidy, The Debacle Series, Book One

“So, the Nephilim aliens want war with us. Who is behind this attack?”

“No, master, not war. I heard Emperor Zerus is coming soon, and he wants revenge.”

“Revenge from who? Please don’t play games with me. Tell me who is in charge.”

“Mr. Melekh. I’m not at liberty to say.”

“Abu, you have three seconds to tell me, or I’ll fire you.”

“Sir, please look at the screen; your answer is forthcoming.”

Melekh watched Abu’s face as it expressed a wide grin. It annoyed him, but he waited. Then he crossed his arms and bristled at Abu’s reply.

On the screen, nations deployed arsenals to attack, but their ammunition didn’t fire. In seconds, the virtual hologram portal sprang to life, unveiling the National World Alliance (NWA) leaders gathered in their respective homes. The leaders joined the meeting, appearing at the NWA headquarters in Jerusalem through the hologram portals on their wristwatches. One courageous leader rose from their seat and inquired, “Who will help us defend against the alien invasion?”

A wave of applause accompanied a well-dressed man as he entered the supernatural portal. The atmosphere was electric. He sat at the table’s head, and eyes watched with anticipation as he disclosed his title.

“Is everyone on board? My name is Cyrus Rashid Melekh.” A guttural growl eluded him, and everyone inside the room shuddered.
