Why does Man return to the earth as ashes which are the final stage before dust? Why does the pastor repeat the phrase “ashes to ashes and dust to dust” at a funeral? Adam was made from adamah meaning earth, or land in the Hebrew translation. Genesis 3:19, (NIV) states, “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.” Also, Ecclesiastes 12:7, (TLV) says, “Then the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”

Were we ever “fire” in our flesh, before we became flesh? The answer to this question is “yes”, in a spiritual perspective we are born out of a fire. Almighty God our Creator is a flaming consuming fire. Elohim breathed His breath of fire into Adams’ lungs, and the cold clay body became “hot” with blood, and Adam began to breathe the breath of Life through his body. This proves that we are made “hot” in a spiritual sense from fire known as (esh – אש) in the Hebrew language.

Have you ever experienced such intense cold that your fingers become numb? You feel warmth when you cup your hands over your mouth and blow warm air onto your fingers. This warmth occurs because your body maintains a core temperature ranging from 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C), with an average of around 98.6°F (37°C). When your temperature rises above this normal range, reaching 101°F, it confirms a fever. In response, your body must activate added mechanisms to cool itself and restore balance.

Our delicate bodies are a marvel of complexity, containing countless intricate components that define our existence as mortal beings. El Shaddai, the master healer and Creator of the human form, loved us so much that HE designed the perfect body. Out of His profound care, He crafted the ideal body to survive on Earth amid this chaotic world after we betrayed HIM.

One day, when we reunite with Father God, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit in heaven, we will receive glorious, radiant, and pure heavenly bodies. These transformed bodies will be free from corruption and imperfections, enabling us to pass through walls, explore distant galaxies, and travel at incredible speeds. Just imagine a life without pain, hair that remains beautiful, the freedom to enjoy any food without gaining weight, and embodying love, kindness, compassion, righteousness, and holiness—so pure that we can gaze upon God’s face. I am eagerly looking forward to that day!
