It was after one in the afternoon when Sophia and Jon returned to her condo from the park. The commotions for the day had ended. The shoreline was clean, and she still needed to get the water samples. She changed clothes and asked Jon to go with her to the beach. They stopped by the laboratory to get a temporary tattoo. She gathered samples and rushed to the portable laboratory. Hours passed, and Jon fell asleep in the chair. Dusk was setting. After finding discrepancies in her water samples, Sophia wanted to see the hologram again. She assembled her containers and woke him. They rushed to the beach to view the evening show.

The sky was red as the sun was setting. The waves on the shore were rushing in for a high tide. They stood on the sidewalk behind the seawall. A thick white cloud appeared as a simulated blue streak of lightning darted across the sky—an ugly beast rose from the depths. The beast had seven heads and ten prickly horns, and on its horns were ten large crowns with blasphemous names so awful no Christian or Jew dare to express. A leopard, with feet the same as a bear, appeared. Its mouth was as large as a lion as it arose from the ocean. The book of Revelation thirteen lifted off the pages of the Bible. The massive beast snarled and growled. Jon eyeballed her shaking body. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder as they stared at the beast. Then the beast spoke.
