“Duck, Noah!” I screamed.

We dropped to the floor and slithered to the open wall beside the windows. We flattened our bodies next to each other against the wall as the light crawled closer. The intense trembling inside me left a bitter aftertaste. While we remained silent, we waited. After the laser passed, we crawled next to the bookcase wall away from the window, our bodies pressed against the wall in a single file with the top of our heads touching.

As we huddled, the laser scanned every corner of the kitchen, ensuite, bedrooms, and study. My breaths quickened, and I turned to prayer, seeking solace while trying to calm my racing heartbeat.

Our eyes followed the swift movement of the light as it raced across the floor, coming straightaway towards us. I held my breath, hoping to confuse the light source.

Oh, no. It saw us. The red light beamed on me, and I sensed my body rise in the beam, then I blacked out.

Did such an event truly take place? Is an alien invasion a possibility?

While the idea of extraterrestrial invasion might seem far-fetched, some believe it could occur in a different context. According to Christian teachings, a more imminent and profound event is the return of Jesus Christ. When He comes again, the sound of the trumpet will echo through the skies, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then, those of us who are still alive will be caught up—“snatched away”—and taken to Heaven. This moment is known as the Rapture, a key belief among Christian believers. It could happen sooner than we expect, so it’s important to be spiritually prepared. Take time to repent, deepen your relationship with the Creator—Almighty God—and recognize His Son, Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, ESV “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”
